Daniel Bryant
Daniel Bryant is a CEO, entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, and Iron Man. A first generation American, Daniel received his BA in Government and Spanish from Dartmouth College, where he was a Rufus Choate Scholar and shortstop on the baseball team. He subsequently received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Daniel is the CEO of Bryant Capital Group, an Operating Partner with private equity firm Vistria Group, and a board member of The Mather Group, Flores Associates, JDP, VIST Labs, My Family Office, and Banrion.
After a successful twelve-year career in technology investment banking with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Robertson Stephens in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, and having worked for Sam Zell’s The Equity Group, Daniel founded Sheridan Road Financial, which ultimately grew to become the third ranked institutional investment consultancy in the country, according to Barron’s and the Wall Street Journal. After fourteen years as CEO and growing the firm to $24 billion in assets with ten offices across the country, the Company sold to Hub International, the fourth largest insurance brokerage firm in the world. Throughout his career, Daniel has been recognized for his investment banking and asset management work, receiving a multitude of awards and recognitions, as a 40 Under 40 Leader, Emerging Leaders Fellow with the Chicago Council of Global Affairs, as well as being recognized as one of the nation’s leading institutional investment consulting firms by Plan Sponsor, Institutional Investor, Pension & Investments, and Wealth Management Magazine, including being named the Investment Advisor of the Year by Plan Sponsor Magazine in 2014 and as a 2016 finalist for Philanthropist of the Year by the “Wealthies”, the industry-wide awards ceremony presented by Wealth Management Magazine.
Daniel has consulted with thousands of companies and has been a thought leader around financial wellness and financial technology to help drive better health, financial and life outcomes for individuals. Together with behavioral economist, Shlomo Benartzi, he has also been a leading voice around the democratization of alternative investments for asset managers and private equity firms. For more than a decade, Daniel has been a keynote speaker for investment management, retirement planning and benefit conferences across the country, as well as a lecturer at the University of Chicago and Vanderbilt University. He leveraged this expertise and access to leading CEOs to write the best-selling book, The Financial Wellness Mandate, which explores the rapidly expanding role financial wellness plays in managing businesses as well as employees.
Daniel is the Chair of The Sheridan Road Charitable Foundation, which helps improve financial, emotional and physical outcomes for those in under-resourced communities throughout the country. Daniel is a current or former Board member of the following civic organizations, including The Art Institute of Chicago, Frist Museum of Art, OZ Arts, Field Museum, Joffrey Ballet, Hopkins Center for the Arts, Dartmouth Club of Chicago, Commercial Club of Chicago, Economic Club of Chicago, Lake County Federation, and the Chicago Street Project.
